Basketball Recap: Applewood Christian's Luck Changes for the Better on Tuesday

Applewood Christian can finally bid farewell to their six-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Tuesday. They walked away with a 58-50 victory over the Lighthouse Prep Academy Eagles. Applewood Christian's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Noah Fowler, who went 5 for 7 on his way to 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Micah Mietzner, who posted nine points.

Applewood Christian's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Lighthouse Prep Academy, they are on a 14-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Applewood Christian will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Show-Me Christian at 6:30 p.m. on December 31st. As for Lighthouse Prep Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge Christian Fellowship at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Christian Fellowship has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
