Gothenburg have been homebodies their last two matches, but they are heading out on Friday. They take on Valentine at 7:00 PM. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, Gothenburg and Valentine will really light up the scoreboard.
Gothenburg had a bit more than a touchdown to spare in a 35-21 victory over Broken Bow. The success made it back-to-back wins for Gothenburg.
Meanwhile, after a disappointing 0 points in their last matchup, Valentine made sure to put some points up on the board against Gordon-Rushville last Friday. Valentine steamrollered Gordon-Rushville 55-20. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 34-13.
Their wins bumped Gothenburg to 5-1 and Valentine to 3-3. In their win, Valentine relied heavily on junior Gage Krolikowski, who rushed for 272 yards and 5 touchdowns. Gothenburg will need to find a way to minimize his impact if they want to win.
