DePue was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 55-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hiawatha Hawks. One positive for the Little Giants, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

DePue's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Hiawatha, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. DePue will take on Lowpoint-Washburn in a holiday battle at at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Hiawatha, they will venture away from home to square off against Christian Liberty at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
