Tristan Finch and Connor Hurst provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Trinity Academy. The connection was good for 73 yards, the longest such play in Ark Valley-Chisholm Trail Division IV this season.
Andale extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Nickerson, 72-22. The victory was the seventh in a row for the team.
Landon Root and Isaiah Franklin gave Collegiate a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Root threw for 213 yards and one touchdown, while Franklin ran for 210 yards. Teammate Root added to the ground attack by rushing for 52 yards.
Finch provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Augusta fell to Trinity Academy. He completed five passes for 147 yards and one touchdown and also ran for 134 yards. Finch's favorite target this week was Hurst, who caught four passes for 111 yards.
Collegiate's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Spartans feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Root has thrown for 1127 yards and 13 touchdowns this season, while Markus Phox has 35 catches for 520 yards. Franklin leads the league in rushing with 947 yards.
The Spartans' Franklin is a mere 53 yards away from breaking the 1,000-rushing-yards mark for the season.
A big matchup in Ark Valley-Chisholm Trail Division IV this week will be when Collegiate takes on Augusta. Mike Gehrer's team is in first place, while Roger Robben's team is in sixth place.
There should be lots of points scored when the Spartans and the Orioles face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Collegiate comes in having scored 287 this season, while Augusta has scored 113. The Spartans scored 41 points last week as they defeated Rose Hill.
Andale took down the Panthers 72-22 last week, the largest margin of any game.
