Northside Christian Academy hasn't had much luck against Richard Winn Academy recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Northside Christian Academy Crusaders will be playing in front of their home fans against the Richard Winn Academy Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Northside Christian Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.
Last Monday, everything went Northside Christian Academy's way against Briarwood Academy as Northside Christian Academy made off with a 9-2 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Crusaders.

Luke Bohnsack made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Northside Christian Academy is 2-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 2-4 otherwise. Bohnsack was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in four of his six plate appearances.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Easton McCutchan, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double. Northside Christian Academy is undefeated when McCutchan posts two or more runs, but 1-5 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Will Spotts, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, Richard Winn Academy had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They walked away with an 11-6 victory over the Knights.
Like Northside Christian Academy, Richard Winn Academy also got a great game from a two-way player: Owen Martin. On the mound, he pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Martin was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That double was his first of the season.
In other batting news, Richard Winn Academy got a massive performance out of Johnathan Bonds, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave Bonds a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Charlie Bonds, who scored four runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Richard Winn Academy pushed their record up to 3-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Northside Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 4-5.
Thursday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Northside Christian Academy has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .486. However, it's not like Richard Winn Academy struggles in that department as they've averaged .443. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
