Softball Recap: Gig Harbor Has No Trouble Against Silas

Gig Harbor was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Silas on Wednesday. The Tides blew past the Rams 21-8. The Tides might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by six runs or more this season.

Gig Harbor is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.8 runs over those games. As for Silas, they suffered their first home loss, dropping their record down to 4-3.

Coming up, Gig Harbor will take on Mount Tahoma at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Silas, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Central Kitsap at 4:00 p.m. The Cougars' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Rams' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
