Auburn Mountainview will look to defend their home turf on Friday against Kent-Meridian at 7:00 PM. If you head out to watch the game, expect to stay the whole 48 minutes: the MaxPreps rankings predict a close match.
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Auburn Mountainview ultimately got the result it was hoping for last Friday. They had just enough and edged out Federal Way 37-34. Junior Drew Davenport, who accumulated 210 passing yards and picked up 33 yards on the ground, was a major factor in Auburn Mountainview's success. In fact, with 12 tackles Davenport was a force on both sides of the ball.
As for Kent-Meridian, Kent-Meridian had a rough outing against Auburn two weeks ago, but a little bit of home cooking seems to have fixed things right up. Everything went Kent-Meridian's way against Decatur as they made off with a 40-13 victory. The victory was a breath of fresh air for Kent-Meridian as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 1-3. After the lofty point totals in their previous games, we'll see if they're able to heat things up even more while facing each other.
