The Walthill Blujays put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They wrapped up 2023 with a 74-57 win over High Plains. Given Walthill's advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 42nd, while High Plains is ranked 140th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Adrian Phillips, who scored 26 points. The contest was his eighth in a row with at least ten points. Keesan Kaaihue was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Walthill's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-0. As for High Plains, their loss dropped their record down to 6-3.
Walthill's road trip will continue as they head out to face Wakefield at 7:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024. High Plains and Hampton will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 4, 2024 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
