Even though Therrell scored an imposing 69 points on Friday, Mount Paran Christian still came out on top. Mount Paran Christian narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Therrell 72-69. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Mount Paran Christian.
Mount Paran Christian's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Christopher Park, who scored 14 points along with 8 rebounds, and Tony LoPresti, who scored 22 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals. The matchup was Park's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Andric Parent, who scored 2 points along with 10 rebounds and 8 assists.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Drew Charter, who are still winless after their fourth matchup. They fell 50-41 to Paideia on Saturday.
Mount Paran Christian's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 79.0 points per game. As for Drew Charter, they have fallen quite a ways from their 20-8 record last season and are now at 0-4.
Mount Paran Christian was dealt a bruising 78-35 loss at the hands of Drew Charter in their previous matchup back in January. Can Mount Paran Christian avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
