The Central Blue Devils's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They took a hard 55-38 fall against Arts. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Central in their matchups with Arts: they've now lost four in a row.
Central's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Michael Anderson, who scored 14 points, and Malachi Thomas who scored nine points. The contest was Anderson's eighth in a row with at least ten points.
Central struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Central's loss was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 5-5. As for Arts, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-1.
Central will head out on the road to face off against Immaculate Conception at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Immaculate Conception presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Central in New Jersey (Immaculate Conception is ranked 33rd, while Central is ranked 214th). Arts will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Florida State University High School at 8:30 p.m. on January 12th. Florida State University High School knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five contests -- so hopefully Arts likes a good challenge.
