It was a good run, but the Archbishop Bergan Knights unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of Lourdes Central Catholic by a score of 42-39. Archbishop Bergan was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Lourdes Central Catholic apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
Paige Frickenstein and Summer Bojanski certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Frickenstein scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and six blocks, while Bojanski scored 16 points along with three steals. Bojanski is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season.
Archbishop Bergan's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Lourdes Central Catholic, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-1.
Archbishop Bergan won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Lincoln Christian at 4:30 p.m. on December 16th. Lincoln Christian presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Archbishop Bergan in Nebraska (Lincoln Christian is ranked first, while Archbishop Bergan is ranked 97th). As for Lourdes Central Catholic, they will head out on the road to face off against Lincoln Lutheran at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lincoln Lutheran is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
