The biggest upset of the week belonged to Troy Christian, who defeated 625th ranked Landmark Christian, 40-7.
The Eagles moved up to 647 from 700 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Freelance. Troy Christian climbed the ranks as a result of defeating the Eagles 40-7.
Alex Wisnyai put up the best numbers in passing as Edgewood lost to Kirtland. He had a total of 15 completions for 147 yards. Wisnyai's favorite target this week was Peyton Knox, who caught 2 passes for 41 yards.
Marshall Smith was the best wideout in the league this week as Landmark Christian fell to Steve Nolan's team. Smith tallied 6 receptions for 88 yards.
Jamal Holston was the most successful running back in the league this week. In 16 carries, he ran for 55 yards as John Steinkoenig's team lost to the Eagles. Will Patrick also contributed to the rushing game with 19 yards on the ground.
Jarrad Harrah was a key player and the best on defense this week as the Warriors lost to the Hornets. The 6-foot-4 senior recorded 2 fumbles.
Edgewood's Wisnyai and Connor McLaughlin have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading Freelance in both passing and receiving yards. 6-2 quarterback Wisnyai has thrown for 460 yards this season, while McLaughlin has 11 catches for 195 yards. Middletown Christian's Sidney Roberts leads the league in rushing yards with 334.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Talawanda takes on Mt. Healthy. The Braves are in ninth place, while the Fighting Owls are in 12th place.
Madison Plains was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from 32nd to 21st in the league. The Golden Eagles beat Southeastern Local 20-17 earlier in the week.
