When it comes to explaining why Nantahala lost, one person who can't be blamed is Dylan Baldwin. Despite the final result, he scored 16 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. That's the first time this season that Baldwin pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Chase McMahan, who scored four points along with three blocks.
Nantahala's loss was their fifth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 3-9. As for Swain County, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Nantahala will square off against Hayesville at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Swain County, they will head out on the road to take on Robbinsville at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
