Basketball Recap: Stuart Piles Up the Points Against Ainsworth

Stuart hadn't done well against Ainsworth recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Stuart Broncos blew past the Ainsworth Bulldogs 76-49. The Broncos have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matches by 25 points or more this season.

Stuart was led to victory by Hunter Tubbs and Kayde Ramm. Tubbs dropped a double-double with 28 points and 12 rebounds, while Ramm dropped a double-double with 20 points and ten boards. The dominant performance gave Ramm a new career-high in rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Drew Schmaderer, who posted six points in addition to five boards and five steals.

Stuart smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Witten Painter, who scored ten points. Chris Fernandez was another key player, putting up 13 points and five rebounds.

Stuart's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-5. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.3 points over those games. As for Ainsworth, their loss dropped their record down to 4-11.

Coming up, Stuart will square off against Randolph at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Ainsworth, they will venture away from home to challenge Winside at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Ainsworth is facing Winside at the right time seeing as Winside is stuck on a 16-game losing streak.
