Anderson Prep Academy is 0-5 against Elwood since April of 2016 but things could change on Tuesday. The Jets will venture away from home to challenge the Panthers at 5:30 p.m. Anderson Prep Academy has given up an average of 11.8 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Anderson Prep Academy fell victim to Randolph Southern and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They came up short against the Rebels, falling 13-0. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, the Jets' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Elwood). Everything went their way against Taylor on Saturday as they made off with an 11-2 win. With that victory, the Panthers brought their scoring average up to 7 runs per game.
Liam Cannon made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off nine hits (and only one walk). Those 13 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two RBI.
In other batting news, Kai Wilkey and Kolin Leever did most of the damage at the plate: Wilkey went 1-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI, while Leever went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Those two RBI gave Leever a new career-high.
The win made it two in a row for Elwood and bumps their season record up to 2-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games. As for Anderson Prep Academy, they now also have a losing record of 2-3.
Elwood's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Anderson Prep Academy has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .453. It's a different story for Elwood, though, as they've only averaged .308. Will they be able to contain Anderson Prep Academy's hitters?
Anderson Prep Academy might still be hurting after the 15-5 loss they got from Elwood in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Can the Jets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
