The Mingus Marauders stacked a 13th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They blew past Mohave, posting a 63-22 win at home. The win was just what Mingus needed coming off of a 69-40 loss in their prior contest.
Leading Mingus to victory were Brianka Villalobos and Savannah Tobias. Villalobos scored 19 points along with six steals, while Tobias dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 steals. Tobias is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Makela Martinez, who scored eight points along with seven assists and five steals.
Mingus pushed their record up to 18-5 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.3 points per game. As for Mohave, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-17.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mingus will take on Prescott at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mohave, they will be playing at home against Lee Williams at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arizona (Lee Williams is ranked 213th, while Mohave is ranked 226th).
