Last Thursday, Westminster didn't have quite enough to beat Standley Lake and fell 10-9. The Wolves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Adrian Moreno made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Daniel Samaniego, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, the third road contest was the charm for Rangeview, as they earned their first road win of the season. They came out on top against Palmer by a score of 6-3 on Wednesday. The Raiders' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Colten Burch made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Burch was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Rene Castillo, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He also put up a hit, which was his first of the season.
Rangeview's victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-2. As for Westminster, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 2-2.
Rangeview's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Westminster hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .431. It's a different story for Rangeview, though, as they've only averaged .141. Will they be able to contain Westminster's hitters?
Westminster couldn't quite get it done against Rangeview when the teams last played back in April of 2024 as they fell 7-3. Will Westminster have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other baseball content.
