The Oak Knoll Royals will head out to square off against the Rahway Indians at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Oak Knoll has given up an average of 10 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Oak Knoll lost 16-4 to Watchung Hills Regional on Wednesday. The Royals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Amelia Flood made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Maddie Parks was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one double.
Rahway let J.P. Stevens stack five runs on them in the second inning on Friday but luckily Rahway prevailed anyway. The Indians sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 10-8 victory over the Hawks. The win was nothing new for the Indians as they're now sitting on three straight.
Amanda Lebers made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, Danielle Maher was incredible, going 2-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Yasmin Garcia, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Rahway kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in three consecutive games.
Rahway's record now sits at 9-4. As for Oak Knoll, their loss dropped their record down to 3-8.
Oak Knoll beat Rahway 6-2 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Will the Royals repeat their success, or do the Indians have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
