The Plainview Pirates waltzed into their game on Tuesday with six straight wins but they left with seven. They strolled past Wakefield with points to spare, taking the game 51-32. Plainview pushed the score to 44-21 by the end of the third, a deficit the Trojans cut but never quite recovered from.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Plainview to victory, but perhaps none more so than Abbie Kromarek, who scored 15 points along with eight assists and two steals. Kromarek is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 12 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Madelynn Dougherty, who scored 14 points.
Plainview has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. As for Wakefield, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-9.
Plainview will take on the Blue Devils at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Nebraska (Wynot is ranked 61st, while the Pirates are ranked 83rd). Wakefield will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Bears at 7:30 p.m. on February 2nd. Laurel-Concord-Coleridge has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 241 points over their last four matchups.
