The Penns Grove Red Devils will head out on the road to square off against the Williamstown Braves at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Penns Grove is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
Last Thursday, Penns Grove ended up a good deal behind the Rams and lost 53-37. While losing is never fun, Penns Grove can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 296th, while the Rams are ranked 122nd).
Giomar Conrad put forth a good effort for the losing side as he dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Willie Slocum, who scored six points along with five rebounds and three blocks.
Meanwhile, Williamstown's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fifth straight loss. Their tough 64-42 loss to St. John-Vianney might stick with them for a while.
Penns Grove has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season. As for Williamstown, their loss dropped their record down to 1-18.
Penns Grove strolled past the Braves when the teams last played back in January of 2020 by a score of 53-34. Does Penns Grove have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Braves turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
