The Stilwell Indians will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against the Idabel Warriors at 2:30 p.m. on January 27th. Hopefully Stilwell focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Saturday.
Last Saturday, Stilwell faced Fort Gibson in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Stilwell fell to Fort Gibson 52-46.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Snowda Watie, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and two steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. Prairie Holmes was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, Idabel can now show off nine landslide victories after their most recent contest on Tuesday. They breezed by Ada on the road to the tune of 67-38. Idabel is really starting to get used to good results now that the team's won 12 straight.
Stilwell's defeat dropped their record down to 12-3. As for Idabel, their win was their 13th straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-1.
Stilwell barely slipped by Idabel in their previous meeting back in January of 2020, winning 50-49. Does Stilwell have another victory up their sleeve, or will Idabel turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
