Baseball Recap: Lutheran Has No Trouble Against Town East Christian

While Lutheran put up plenty of runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Town East Christian. Lutheran blew past Town East Christian 18-0. Considering the Mustangs have won six games by more than seven runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Keegan Stinson was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-1. He is becoming a predictor of Lutheran's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 4-1 (and 5-7 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Maresh, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Lutheran always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .595. They are 6-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

The victory snapped Lutheran's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 9-8 record. As for Town East Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Lutheran will host Central Texas Christian at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Central Texas Christian has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.5 runs per game on average), something Lutheran will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Town East Christian, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Lutheran at 4:30 p.m. on April 8.
