After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Haxtun, Crowley County was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They breezed past the Swink Lions to the tune of 42-0. The Chargers' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Levi Gibson and Cooper Salzbrenner. Gibson rushed for 197 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries while Salzbrenner rushed for 70 yards and a pair of scores on only six carries. Gibson really tore up the turf during one magnificent 92-yard run.
Crowley County was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 362 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
Crowley County's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Swink, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.
Crowley County and Swink will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Chargers will face off against rival Hoehne at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Swink is set to take on their familiar foe Holly at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
