Douglas is a perfect 8-0 against Cholla since March of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Bulldogs will challenge the Chargers at 4:00 p.m. Douglas will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
Douglas' pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. Everything went their way against Amphitheater as they made off with a 20-0 win. Considering the Bulldogs have won eight matchups by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Rafael Buzane was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI.
In other pitching news, Jose Ivan Higuera and Emiliano Fimbres dominated on the mound. Higuera went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI, while Fimbres went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases Higuera has posted since back in March.

Back at the plate, Christopher Escarcega was incredible, going 2-for-4 with four runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Andres Ortiz, who went 3-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Douglas hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in four consecutive contests.
Cholla came out on top against Rio Rico on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run fifth inning. The Chargers took their game against the Hawks 8-3. The victory was some much needed relief for the Chargers as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Ricardo Molina and Jesus Martinez made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing, Molina tossed five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Meanwhile, Martinez tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. At bat, Molina went 2-for-4 with two runs, while Martinez went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Raymond Molina, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run. Another was Gregory Ortiz, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Douglas' record now sits at 13-8-1. As for Cholla, their record is now 10-5.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Douglas has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.7 hits per game. However, it's not like Cholla struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.7 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Douglas came out on top in a nail-biter against Cholla in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, sneaking past 8-6. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
