Basketball Game Preview: Fremont Eagles vs. Elkhart Christian Academy Eagles

Fremont is a perfect 3-0 against Elkhart Christian Academy since February of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. We've got a battle between Eagles coming up. Fremont is coming into the match hot, having won their last seven games.

Fremont is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They enjoyed a cozy 61-44 win over Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 96th, while the Braves are ranked 210th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Elkhart Christian Academy had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 35 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Saturday. They breezed past the Bluejays to the tune of 62-35. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 contests by 21 points or more this season.

Fremont better keep an eye on Lily Maxwell. She was instrumental in Elkhart Christian Academy's win, shooting 5-for-8 from beyond the arc and dropping a double-double with 28 points and 13 rebounds. Thanks to that strong game, Maxwell now owns an excellent 45.2% field goal percentage. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyla Yordy, who posted 13 points and five steals.

Fremont's record now sits at 20-6. As for Elkhart Christian Academy, their record now sits at 20-5.

Everything went Fremont's way against Elkhart Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in February of 2021, as Fremont made off with a 38-17 victory. Will Fremont repeat their success, or does Elkhart Christian Academy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
