Softball Recap: Lawson Wins Going Away Against Glencliff

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Pope John Paul II, Lawson was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 21-1 margin over the Glencliff Colts. The Lightning might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by 17 runs or more this season.

Lawson got a massive performance out of Isabella Batts, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Honesti Leggs, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-1.

Lawson hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Lawson's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-8. As for Glencliff, they dropped their record down to 1-8 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Lawson will face off against Hume-Fogg at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Glencliff, they will challenge St. Cecilia Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
