North Pitt extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to ten on Wednesday, dropping them down to 0-6. They lost 16-4 to the Holmes Aces. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Aces this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-2 last Friday.
North Pitt saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Quintaris Price, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that Price has brought in this season.
As for Holmes, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games.
On Holmes' side, Myles Cobb was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, Cobb posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March of 2025. He was even better at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs.
In other batting news, Holmes got a massive performance out of Ashton Stallings, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one run. Those four RBI gave Stallings a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Hunter Lynch, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Coming up, North Pitt will welcome West Craven at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.75 runs per game on average), something the Panthers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Holmes, they have already played their next game, a 4-1 win against Lawrence Academy on the 13th.
