The Concordia Cardinals were the 52-38 winner over the Round Rock Christian Academy Crusaders when they last played one another back in October of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Concordia lost to Round Rock Christian Academy on the road by a decisive 54-36 margin on Friday. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Several Cardinals players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Alexander Jones, who threw for 254 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 99 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries. Jones hasn't dropped below three passing touchdowns for eight straight games. Daniel Wolfmueller was in the mix too, providing Concordia with two touchdowns.
It was another big night for Vashon Carter, who rushed for 129 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries, and also picked up 50 receiving yards. Jordan Greatting was another key contributor, throwing for 124 yards and three touchdowns.
Concordia has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season. As for Round Rock Christian Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Concordia will take on Holy Trinity Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Holy Trinity Catholic is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for Round Rock Christian Academy, they will be playing at home against Faith Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Texas (Faith Academy is ranked 127th, while Round Rock Christian Academy is ranked 141st).
