The Flintridge Prep Wolves will head out on the road to face off against the Chadwick Dolphins at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Flintridge Prep is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last 12 games.
On Wednesday, Flintridge Prep got the win against EF Academy by a conclusive 3-0.
The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Flintridge Prep was: they took every set by at least 15 points. The final score came out to 25-8, 25-10, 25-8.
Flintridge Prep relied on the efforts of Ally Perez, who had four aces and three digs, and Kaitlin Ransford, who had six digs and two aces. That's the most aces Ransford has posted over her last four matches.
The home team had won the previous four meetings between Chadwick and Vistamar, and Chadwick kept the tradition alive. The Dolphins blew past the Vikings 3-0 on Wednesday. The Dolphins not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since September 18th (when they won 3-0).
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-12, 25-12.
Chadwick found their leader in sophomore Emma Landsberg, who had nine digs.
They weren't the only good servers: Chadwick was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. They are 6-1 when they serve at least ten aces.
Flintridge Prep's record is now 19-2. As for Chadwick, their record now sits at 17-15.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's contest: Flintridge Prep has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 9.9 aces per game. However, it's not like Chadwick struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Flintridge Prep was able to grind out a solid victory over Chadwick in their previous matchup last Wednesday, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolves since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
