Baseball Recap: Sheridan Picks Up Eighth Consecutive Win

Sheridan waltzed into their contest on Friday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over the Meadowbrook Colts. The Generals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 matches by six runs or more this season.

Tyler Turnes spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on six hits and racked up 13 Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Shawn Griffey, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. Camdyn Packer was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

Sheridan's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-4. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Meadowbrook, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sheridan will head out to square off against Liberty Union at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Meadowbrook, they will venture away from home to challenge Philo at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
