A feisty cat fight will be fought as Central York Panthers take on Northeastern Bobcats at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Central York has four straight victories, Northeastern has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Friday, Central York got the win against Penn Manor by a conclusive 9-1. Considering the Panthers have won four games by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Elizabeth Ferrell was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. Ferrell was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, Brooklyn Shaffer was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two triples, three runs, and one double. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Bailey Daughenbaugh, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.
Central York was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .406. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .308 or higher in five consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Northeastern came up short against Lower Dauphin last Friday, falling 14-3.
Madison Redding made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run. Cami Dennis was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-1.
Northeastern's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Central York, their win bumped their record up to 5-2.
Northeastern's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Central York has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .479. It's a different story for Northeastern, though, as they've only averaged .197. Will they be able to contain Central York's hitters?
Central York was able to grind out a solid victory over Northeastern in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, winning 9-5. Will Central York repeat their success, or does Northeastern has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
