Rocklin and Folsom are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2022, but likely not for long. The Thunder will challenge the Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Rocklin is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season.
Rocklin heads into the game have just come up short against nationally ranked Del Oro (Rocklin was ranked 42nd at the time). The Thunder fell 5-1 to the Golden Eagles last Friday. The Thunder have struggled against the Golden Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Payton Prior spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Katie Wetteland was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one triple and one run. Maddie Williams also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Meanwhile, Folsom also suffered a loss in their last game, falling to Laguna Creek by a score of 12-7.
Shay Sacay and Faith Best did some serious damage despite the final result: Sacay went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs, while Best went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Sophie Green was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
Rocklin's loss dropped their record down to 13-3. As for Folsom, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-7-2.
Folsom's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Rocklin has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.6 hits per game. It's a different story for Folsom, though, as they've been averaging 9.8 hits. Given Rocklin's sizable advantage in that area, the Bulldogs will need to find a way to close that gap.
Rocklin took their win against Folsom when the teams last played back in March by a conclusive 7-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Thunder since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
