Basketball Recap: Easton Curtis' Big Game Can't Quite Lead North Medford over South Eugene

After flying high against Roseburg last Tuesday, North Medford came back down to earth. The North Medford Black Tornado fell 54-44 to the South Eugene Axe on Friday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Axe this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 52-45 back in January.

North Medford's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Easton Curtis, who posted 11 points and five rebounds. Curtis has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Tate Snyder, who went 5-for-10 on his way to 10 points and three steals.

North Medford's loss dropped their record down to 12-8. As for South Eugene, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-8.

Looking ahead, North Medford will challenge Grants Pass at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for South Eugene, they will head out to take on Sheldon at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
