Cape Hatteras has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Bear Grass Charter Bears at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in North Carolina (Cape Hatteras is ranked 291st, while Bear Grass Charter is ranked 294th).
Cape Hatteras posted their biggest victory yet this season on Thursday. They breezed by Northeast Academy For Aerospace and Advanced Tech at home to the tune of 51-9. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 36-7.
Kylie Philips continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 14 points along with eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Bryan, who scored eight points.
In what's become a running theme this season, Bear Grass Charter gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They blew past Columbia 55-29. The score was close at the half, but Bear Grass Charter pulled away in the second half with 37 points.
Cape Hatteras' win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-5. As for Bear Grass Charter, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season.
Cape Hatteras couldn't quite finish off Bear Grass Charter in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 and fell 52-49. Can Cape Hatteras avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
