The Palmer Trinity Falcons will square off against the St. Anthony Saints at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Palmer Trinity is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2 runs per game this season.
Last Tuesday, Palmer Trinity earned a 12-9 victory over Monte Vista. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Falcons.
Palmer Trinity let Kevin Prieto and Nicholas Miraglia run wild. Prieto scored two runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4, while Miraglia went 2-for-5 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. That's the most RBI Miraglia has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Tommy Barcinas Jr., who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.
Palmer Trinity was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, St. Anthony waltzed into their match on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the Mustangs with a sharp 16-1 win. Considering the Saints have won four games by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Austin Cassidy made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Cassidy was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Matthew James, who scored three runs while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Jason Glenn, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
St. Anthony now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Palmer Trinity, their record is now 11-5.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Palmer Trinity has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.9 hits per game. However, it's not like St. Anthony struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.9 hits.
