If the Lincoln Lynx were feeling good off their 69-22 takedown of the Victor Pirates last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Lincoln was the victim of a tough 48-27 loss at the hands of Drummond on Tuesday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Lincoln in their matchups with Drummond: they've now lost eight in a row.
Makena Copenhaver was Lincoln's leading scorer, having posted nine points.
Kylee Copenhaver held things down on the boards with five rebounds.
Drummond's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Remington Cline, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Cline is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 14 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Charlee Cline, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Lincoln has not been sharp recently as the team has lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season. As for Drummond, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-3.
Lincoln will head out on the road to square off against Seeley-Swan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Lincoln focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 26 on Tuesday. As for Drummond, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Granite at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. Drummond is coming into the matchup with eight straight victories at home, so Granite is out to stop a team with plenty of momentum.
