After four games on the road, Neuse Christian Academy is heading back home. Having just played yesterday, they will get right back to it and host the Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill Lion at 6:15 p.m. on February 2nd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in North Carolina (Neuse Christian Academy is ranked 424th, while the Lion are ranked 406th).
On Thursday, Neuse Christian Academy ended up a good deal behind the Tigers and lost 36-17.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Lyla Lindstrom, who scored nine points along with three steals. Lila Sarant was another key contributor, scoring two points along with six steals.
Meanwhile, Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Friendship Christian 58-26 at home. That looming 58-26 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill yet this season.
Ashlyn Lange was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 24 points and 21 steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill's points.
Neuse Christian Academy dropped their record down to 7-10 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 24.3 points per game. As for Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-11 record this season.
Friday's matchup is shaping up to be a scrappy match: Neuse Christian Academy have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 35.1 rebounds per game. It's a different story for Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill, though, as they've been averaging only 3.7 rebounds per game. Given Neuse Christian Academy's sizable advantage in that area, the Lion will need to find a way to close that gap.
