The New Roads Jaguars will head out on the road to square off against the California Academy of Math & Science Rebels at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (New Roads is ranked 864th, while California Academy of Math & Science is ranked 863rd).
Last Thursday, things could have been worse for New Roads, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 56-37 loss to Vistamar.
Meanwhile, California Academy of Math & Science was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Wednesday as they fell 51-46 to Hawthorne Math & Science Academy.
New Roads' defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-6. As for California Academy of Math & Science, they now have a losing record at 7-8.
New Roads couldn't quite finish off California Academy of Math & Science in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 and fell 58-55. Can New Roads avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
