Tri-West Hendricks is a perfect 3-0 against Corydon Central since June of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Bruins will challenge the Panthers at 1:00 p.m. Tri-West Hendricks is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.5 runs per game this season.
Tri-West Hendricks is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 23 runs on Wednesday, they were much more limited against Indianapolis Bishop Chatard on Thursday. They fell just short of the Trojans by a score of 3-2.
Natalie Tharp spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on six hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Tri-West Hendricks saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Keira Johnson, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one RBI.
Meanwhile, Corydon Central waltzed into their game on Tuesday with ten straight wins... but they left with 11. They never let the Pirates get on the board and left with a 1-0 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Panthers have posted since March 30, 2024.
Not much got past Ava Gerdon, who gave up just six hits to keep Charlestown off the board.
Corydon Central pushed their record up to 12-3 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Tri-West Hendricks, they now have a losing record of 8-9.
Saturday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Tri-West Hendricks hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .343. However, it's not like Corydon Central struggles in that department as they've averaged .346. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Tri-West Hendricks beat Corydon Central 4-0 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bruins since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
