I Sunset - Northwest recap October 22, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in I Sunset - Northwest this week, Palo Verde beat Spring Valley 45-0. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Panthers.
The Grizzlies lost to Palo Verde 45-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Anthony Smith provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Arbor View defeated Durango.
Dustin Puia put up the best numbers in passing as Shadow Ridge topped Sierra Vista. He finished with a total of 3 completions for 71 yards and 2 touchdowns.
5-foot-9 quarterback Puia of the Mustangs is the league leader in passing yards this season with 811. He has also thrown 7 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Jake Ortale. The Palo Verde star has 16 catches for 418 yards.
Fans will be treated to a premier battle in the secondary when Darwin Rost's team's Ortale goes up against the Mountain Lions' Javion Hunt.
As it stands, the Aggies are in second, while Shadow Ridge is in third.
The Panthers led the league in scoring this week by notching 45 points on Spring Valley. Parker Rost threw for 86 yards and 1 touchdown and ran for 45 yards in the win.
