After flying high against the Wolcott Eagles last Monday, the Wilby Wildcats came back down to earth. Wilby fell just short of Crosby by a score of 68-65. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
It was another big night for Micah Blackman, who shot 4-for-7 from downtown and dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds for Crosby. Blackman is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last seven games he's played. Another player making a difference was Terrell Taylor, who scored 14 points.
Wilby's loss dropped their record down to 7-2. As for Crosby, their victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wilby will stay at home for another game and welcome Torrington at 7:00 p.m. on January 24th. Crosby will take on Oxford at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
