Cloudland has been on the road for four straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the University Buccaneers at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Cloudland knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four contests -- so hopefully University likes a good challenge.
Cloudland can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent matchup last Monday. They breezed by Mitchell on the road to the tune of 70-23. Given Cloudland's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 101st in Tennessee, while Mitchell is ranked 335th in North Carolina), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, University's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their eighth straight loss. They fell 37-26 to Unaka.
Cloudland's victory was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.5 points per game. As for University, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-10.
Everything came up roses for Cloudland against University in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 as the team secured a 68-23 win. Does Cloudland have another victory up their sleeve, or will University turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
