Even though the Del Oro Golden Eagles scored an imposing 66 points on Friday, the Whitney Wildcats still came out on top. Whitney snuck past the Golden Eagles with a 70-66 win. The win made it back-to-back wins for Whitney.
Several Golden Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Caden Pinnick, who scored 23 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. Jake Williams was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Whitney's win bumped their record up to 16-10. As for Del Oro, their loss dropped their record down to 19-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Whitney will take on the Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Folsom knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six contests -- so hopefully the Wildcats like a good challenge. As for Del Oro, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Trojans at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Oak Ridge and the Golden Eagles are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
