Harleton hasn't had much luck against Overton recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Wildcats will face off against the Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Fans were treated to a battle of the Wildcats on Friday. Harleton blew past Waskom 17-7.
Annabelle Green spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up eight Ks.

On the hitting side, Kayela Nealy was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Chloe Johnson also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Harleton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .692. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March of 2025.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Overton). Their pitcher stepped up to hand Carlisle a 22-0 shutout on Tuesday. The win was nothing new for the Mustangs as they're now sitting on four straight.
Kelsey Vaught was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Vaught was also big at the plate, earning one RBI, one run, and two stolen bases.
In other batting news, Overton let Kasha Williams and Mason Fenter run wild. Williams got on base in three of her four plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI, while Fenter went 1-for-3 with five stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI. Those four runs gave Fenter a new career-high. Sophia Shahzad was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.
Harleton's record is now 5-18-1. As for Overton, their record now sits at 11-8.
Harleton suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Overton when the teams last played back in March of 2025. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
