The Omaha North Vikings had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Millard South by a score of 51-42 on Tuesday. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Omaha North has managed all season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Omaha North to victory, but perhaps none more so than Akazja Foster, who scored 15 points along with four steals. That's the first time this season that Foster scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Milani Drake, who scored eight points along with 11 rebounds and three steals.
Omaha North's win ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-3. As for Millard South, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Omaha North will play host again and welcome Lincoln Southwest, where tip off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Lincoln Southwest is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. Millard South will be home for the holidays to greet Columbus at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.
