The New Brockton Gamecocks will be playing at home against the Northside Methodist Academy Knights at 5:30 p.m. New Brockton will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
New Brockton can now show off ten landslide victories after their most recent contest on Tuesday. They breezed by Pike County at home to the tune of 69-17. With New Brockton ahead 42-8 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Ariana Smith and Reese Eddins were among the main playmakers for New Brockton as the former scored 18 points along with five assists and four steals and the latter scored 17 points along with three steals. Smith hasn't dropped below two steals for 11 straight games. Another player making a difference was Casey Williams, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Northside Methodist Academy earned a 31-24 win over Houston Academy on Thursday. Given Northside Methodist Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 166th, while Houston Academy is ranked 356th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
New Brockton has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. As for Northside Methodist Academy, they pushed their record up to 18-6 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home.
New Brockton and Northside Methodist Academy were neck-and-neck in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, but New Brockton came up empty-handed after a 45-44 loss. Can New Brockton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
