At the plate, Camp Point Central let Briggs Wiskirchen and Colton Cooley run wild. Wiskirchen went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI, while Cooley scored three runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Wiskirchen has become a key player for Camp Point Central: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least three hits, but 0-5 otherwise. Meanwhile, Pittsfield got the win against Beardstown on Wednesday by a conclusive 10-3. The result was nothing new for the Saukees, who have now won six matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.
Draven Puterbaugh was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up three earned runs off 11 hits. Puterbaugh was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, Clayton Reinhardt and Lane Foster did most of the damage at the plate: Reinhardt went 1-for-4 with one home run and four RBI, while Foster scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Those four RBI gave Reinhardt a new career-high. Luke Saxe was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
Camp Point Central's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-6. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Pittsfield, their victory bumped their record up to 9-2.
