The Alvord Bulldogs's three-game losing streak came to an end on Wednesday. They snuck past Rio Vista with a 55-49 win.
Rio Vista lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Filippo Bencetti, who scored 20 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. Bencetti continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Blaine Briscoe, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds.
Alvord's win bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Rio Vista, their loss dropped their record down to 9-9.
Alvord will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Gainesville at 7:00 p.m. on December 27, 2023. Gainesville knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 20 matches -- so hopefully Alvord likes a good challenge. Rio Vista will finish 2023 at home by hosting Grandview at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Grandview is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
