The Marion Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the Luling Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Marion pushed their score all the way to 34 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 41-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of Cole.
Meanwhile, Luling's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Randolph, falling 42-7. While losing is never fun, Luling can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 984th, while Randolph is ranked 384th).
Marion now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Luling, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 2-7.
Marion couldn't quite finish off Luling in their previous meeting back in November of 2022 and fell 28-26. Can Marion avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
