Softball Recap: Halifax Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Halifax came tearing into Wednesday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 4-1 win over the Shikellamy Braves.

Bebe Roland spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Halifax's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was McKenna Peryea, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Halifax's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-7. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Shikellamy, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-11.

Halifax has already played their next game, a 10-0 defeat against Susquenita on the 8th. As for Shikellamy, they will take on Warrior Run at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Defenders will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Braves surely won't give up without a fight.
